Daphna loves to wear prettry clothes. She chooses what she wants to wear and then dresses by herself. Her favorite colour is pink and she likes to dance especially when music is played. Daphna loves tohelp
Mummy in the kitchen, she has her own toy kitchen too and she loves to make and go shopping for Schnizels.
Daphna can hop and apparently is the only girl in her gan who can to date. She demonstraits this ability frequently. She may just hop into you so; Watch out! there's a Daphna about!
Daphnas' favorite set of pyjamas have Minnie Mouse all over them, and button up at the front. Recently Daphna has figured out how to open and of course close the butttons. She has learnt how we have to match the right button to the right hole other wise the pyja9:46 AM 1/13/2011mas don't go on right. We have not yet learnt that pyjamas need to stay on all night long and we do not take them off in the middle of the night and run around and make sure Mummy is up.
Daphna's hair is so long now that she needs to have her hair put up so that it does not go into her eyes, and so that we can see her pretty face, to use her words "I'm sooo pretty". Mummy sits her down in the morning to brush her hair and to try to organise it into a neat bunch, these days she is wearing one big one on top. Mummy needs to use both hands to do this so she loosly grips the band in her mouth between her teeth untill she is ready to put into Daphna's hair. Today, Daphna said "I want to put it in my mouth." Mummy of course gets the band back soaking wet. Never mind Daphna!!!
Daphna played hostess to two of her friends today, inviting them to join her for a good game of mega blocks. The twins, aged nearly three, are not identicle, agreed if they could only drink from Daphna's Princesses sippy cups and eat Ginger bread cookies. Daphna eventually agreed to this propersition. The twins mother is a friend of Mummy going back to Mummy's days in Birmingham, UK. Their mother is now noticably expecting. -Beshah Tova Auntie Katia.
Mummy came down to the kitchen this morning to find a chair pulled up the the kitchen worksurface and three half eaten cupcakes sitting there. Only the chocolate based topping had been consumed. After interogating three suspects the authorities determined that it was Daphna that had commited the offence. Daphna later admitted to the accusation. She was recommened chocolate obstention theorpy, and did not recive a chocolate coin after breakfast. It has previously been noted that her family has a long history of chocoholicism on both sides, and this is just the lastest generation's manifestation of it. There is little hope that Daphna will ever be able to quit her chocolate obsession.
Daphna found Betzalel's Chunukah party invitation. The invatation was shapped like a "cud"- hebrew for "Jug". She starteded tipping it and telling her Mummy that she's pouring the "Shemen" at first her silly Mummy didn't understand what she was talking about, then it dawned on Mummy, "Shemen" is hebrew for "oil"-clever Daphna. Daphna spent most of the afternoon yesterday going around singing "This old man he play one he plays knik knak on my drum."
She has invented her own abridged version of "Baa baa black sheep" it goes and these aren't typos this is how she sings it: "Baa Baa back sheep, have wool? Yes for Dafa doos live down lane" When Mummy sings Baa Baa black sheep she doesn't sing "the little boy who lives down the lane", she sings "little Daphna doos that lives down the lane" so....There you go the abridged version. She calls herself Dafa.
Daphna spends a lot of her spare time looking for paper to draw in she has somehow found Mummy's cache of note cards and loves to draw pictures on them. Then she moves a chair over to the shelves climbs up and gets herself down a pair of scissors and the promptly cuts/tears up the picture that she has just done. (Mummy is mindful that the scissors she is able to reach by this method are meant for children, fairly blunt and short in length.) When ever she sees Oriel practising his writing she also wants to have ago. Likewise pointing to juice cartons and asking "What does this say?" after Oriel has asked a similar question. (Although Oriel genrally points to writting not to a picture.)
Today we made cookies!! There aren't any cookies other than chocolate chip ones, just in case you didn't already know, and in case you didn't know, even though the recipe says that you need 100g, Daphna says that you actually only need to put in 85 g, so she got to solving that problem. Silly Mummy!
Daphna does this cute thing when she is demonstraighting how to pour the oats into the dough where she kind of tilts one shoulder lower than the other and lifts the elbow of the higher shoulder over her head.
The kids all had a cookie each just before getting into bed.
Daphna while lying with her head on her Mummy's lap has been pondering the existential nature of the Godhead asking:Where is Hashem?
She really did ask that, Daphna is just 2 years old. The boys often talk about this issue, they have difficulty trying to get a handle on it Is Hasem in the bathroom?
or alternatively Is Hashem in our food?

That is quite standard fare for the boys. But hearing it from a two year old, well I was impressed.
