The arrival of Bubi and Zadi in the Ghedini household bought with it a lot of joy and fun along with the genral feeling of holiday not just for those absent from work. But Bubi and Zadi also bought witht htem presents. One of Oriel's presents was a book called "The Big Blue Book of Begginer Books" at 366 pages long including six separate titles, Oriel did us all proud reading it. Uncle Aaron read one of the stories with him and commented how well he read. He reads really well
Way to go Oriel!!!- Keep up the good work.
Oriel has been learning to read with Mummy. Last week Mummy picked up a ladybird "I can read" book from outside the library that they were giving away free. This book was called "Peter and the Wolf". Last night Oriel (with only a little help) read the entire book. Then we went on the internet and watched a concert of "Peter and the wolf" on "youtube" and also a "Spiting image" style version of it. We learnt that the music was written by Prokofiev and Mummy checked and found that we have other music written by him, so tonight we are reading Romeo and Julliette. (Although we might skip the end bit. It's (not) to die for.) Or maybe we'll just listen to the music.
Oriel went to play with his friend Shalom today, they are good friend and in Gan they are always know to "hang out" together. They watched the movie Superman 14 (who knew?) and wound up with Shalom's Mom, in the park just downstairs from the Ghedini residance.
Oriel has been excited for weeks at the up and coming Chunukah he was practising for. He knew all the songs by heart and all of the dances, he had his torch ready. Finally the party came. Mummy and Oriel went to gan late at night and he met his friends there, sang, danced in UV light with white scarves that glowed and ate... you guessed it Doughnuts!!! See pictures of the party on Shutterfly
Or you can look at some his activities here.

There he is.
Oriel started and finished reading the book "Goose on the loose". It was the first time he completed an entire book over one session. He also continued a little bit with his writing practise.
Yesterday Oriel, Betzalel, Daphna and Mummy went to buy new shoes for Oriel. He had been wearing ones that were about 3 sizes to big, because he liked them. The new ones are black sports shoes with yellow bats on the side. He is very happy with them and wore them home from the shop. While there we also somehow ended up buying "Bakugan" underpants and 2 more DVDs for our humungous collection. We are considering opening up a rental store! (I don't know what Bakugan is but aparently it is very cool.)
Oriel continues each night on his quest to read more and better and faster. Last night he started to read a book called "Ted in a red bed" Mummy read it through once, then he followed reading by himself aloud. He then continued with his writting practice where todays letter of choice was the letter "F". Which he wrote briliantly.
See a picture of his work.Books that he has read so far include:
He is also learning to write. Every night (except Shabbat) he practises writing letters from his excersise book. Oriel loves to build lego models, he can follow the instructions and build them all by himself.
Oriel and Mummy have a lot of time together walking around, to an from Gan. So we often pass the time playing "I spy". I spy with my little eye something begining with "g" gate or gan, something begining with "b" brick or bench. Something begining with "s", shul, slide, swing. I spy something begining with "M" Mummy!!!! This joke of his had him in stiches.
This morning, Oriel invented a new game. (Mummy was fed up with "I spy") You have to listen for birds singing and when you hear one you get a point and who ever hears the most wins. Oriel got up to about eleven this morning, before he gave up counting. He started to count twelveteen... A new game is needed.
